Checking the gas temperature directly from the engine, you could know the situation of your engine is the temperature too hot to damage your engine? For 2 stroke engine, there is no air/fuel ratio meter for you to adjust the carburetor and you could also check the air/fuel ration by the exhaust gas temperature.
